曾於1990年擔任クラリオンガール，1991年成為アサヒビール的形象女孩，かとうれいこ憑藉她的超凡身材和燦爛笑容在當時的文化中掀起了一股熱潮。隨後，她在寫真、藝人和演員等領域大放異彩，但在2001年與職業高爾夫球手横尾要結婚後，決定暫停演藝活動，專心支持丈夫的運動生涯。2003年，她迎來了長女的誕生，專注於家庭生活。
演藝復出
不過，去年她感受到丈夫的工作和育兒逐漸步入正軌，開始思考“或許是時候重新以自己的方式來打造人生了”。在此時，她受到FRIDAY的邀請進行寫真拍攝。她坦言：“一開始覺得有點像浦島太郎，感到害怕，但如果要從零開始，那就從這裡開始吧。”最終拍攝結果大獲好評，網上充斥著“依然美麗”、“年齡難以置信”等讚美之詞，令她感到“增添了一些自信”。
新寫真集的拍攝
在此基礎上，她進一步加速準備，進行了此次寫真集的拍攝。她確定了自己的拍攝規則：“一定要保持自然，強迫自己展現的畫面是NG。”在這一理念下，她前往澳大利亞進行拍攝，期待呈現最真實的自己。
